Hi Kyle,
I would need to have the Activity module re-load (or update itself) when the user activates our app. Can I simply hit a URL for that to happen like you do with the normal updating of the activity module every 30 seconds?

Anyway to achieve that using a URL?

The thing is that our app loads the last view from its cache. Currently I have the whole page getting completely reloaded which does what it is supposed to (as in the last activity), but it leaves us with problems in other parts of the website.

Is it possible to tell the activity module via loading a URL or something that it should "re-charge"?

Thanks

Tim

Is the built in "Auto Update" feature not sufficient for updating the stream? It should insert new activity entries at the top if it finds any. There is no functionality to refresh the stream like you're wanting.

Yeah in essence the auto update is sufficient BUT there are some people who have the website open but not looked at it for some time. Then they quickly go in and check if there are new updates (which is not long enough to trigger the auto update). Then they leave again because nothing new has happened.

Ok, that seams more like a problem with the auto update expiring sooner than you'd like. I'll add a feature ticket to add parameters to control when it expires or even possibly never expires. Should be simple enough addition to be added in next released planned shortly after CB 2.3 (to be released soon; probably next week).

Ok, next release will have new global parameters within CB Activity > Parameters > Loader for you to control the auto load and auto update interval and attempts. Setting attempts to 0 for example will cause it to never give up.
