[#7332] Show New Articels in Activity using K2

6 years 4 weeks ago - 6 years 3 weeks ago #308283 by Jens Proetel
Hallo CB Team

I would like to show contacts and followers new if someone created new articels in there CB activity (see attachement). Would this be possible?

Is there a manuel on how to insert the follow button into the CB Profile?

I'm using CB 2.2.1.

Thank you very much for an answer.
Jens

Sorry, I don't understand what you're asking. You want to show articles a user creates in CB Activity?

Is there a manuel on how to insert the follow button into the CB Profile?

Create a Follow field within CB > Field Management. Should work correctly immediately as the default asset is the displayed users profile so by clicking the button on another users profile you'll be following them and should see their activity on your profile.

I'm using CB 2.2.1.

Highly recommend installing the latest build as there have been several releases since stable 2.2.1.

There's no activity logging for Joomla or K2 created articles unless they were created from CB Blogs. You can see what logging functionality is available in CB Auto Actions > System Actions. If CB Auto Actions isn't installed then CB Activity is a basic stream that accepts user posts since CB Activity it self doesn't handle the logging.

With that said CB Auto Actions can act on Joomla events. So if you know the Joomla events K2 triggers when an article is created you maybe able to log activity for them using a new auto action. Suggest using an existing system action as a starting point for this to make configuration much easier.

I've added a feature ticket to review adding activity logging for articles. As CB Activity uses CB Articles plugin for parsing article activity it should work fine with both Joomla and K2 articles.
