[SOLVED] is there a bug with SMTP mode ?

Hi all,

I ask this question here because I have a problem of registration email and CB 1.9.1, I saw similar problem on the forum but I didn't find any answer

I can't change CB version because I have a specific gateway on this website and I can't upgrade this gateway

SMTP is working with other componant, but if I set SMTP mode CB doesn't send any email : registration, renaval for CBsubs, etc..

Joomla mailer API fallsback to PHPMailer if SMTP fails. It's possible your STMP isn't working in Joomla and you'd never know unless both PHPMailer and SMTP failed. For CB you need to make a minor adjustment to the SMTP configuration and include the port with the host. Below is example configuration using GMail.

Mailer: SMTP Server
SMTP Authentication: Yes
SMTP Security: SSL
SMTP Port: 465
SMTP Username: Your Google Username
SMTP Password: Your Google Password
SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com

Note you may need to append the port to the host as follows.

SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com:465

The problem was with my SMTP configuration. It is working now very well. I also switched to SendGrid which is great.
