I just installed CB 1.9.1
Are there instructions/documentation for guiding a newbie in assembling a typical Social Network website with the CB modules/add-ins? The CB manual does not offer this guidance. Perhaps a GroupJive manual somewhere?

Also, please recommend any sites that I should examine for a typical layout. Thanks.

CB is a generalized social network package. We can't provide a guide for a social site that fits your needs as that's person by person specific. CB out of the box is already setup for basic social site usage (install and done). To expand on it you can create new Tabs within CB > Tab Management and Fields within CB > Field Management to have more information on profiles. You can create a Userlist within CB > List Management to have a list of your users.

Once the basics are understood you can explore plugins like CB GroupJive, which provides grouping functionality similar to other Group features on other social sites. For example I could have a category for "Movies" then have "Harry Potter Fans" as a group in that category. Anyone a fan could join my group and we could all communicate.

CB GroupJive does not, at this time, have a detailed documentation. It does have an install manual included with it to help you get started though.

If you want a more complete social site out of the box you should look into CB Quickstart Pro, which you can find more information on below.

I did install the CB Quickstart Pro. Where is the Bootstrap template? My site utilizes Rockettheme/Gantry. Will there be compatibility issues? Are they mutually exclusive?

Where do I find the GroupJive manual?

FYI, I have used CB for many years. I also have experience with EasySocial and JomSocial. They do not (yet) have the power and flexibility of CB, but they are much easier to setup out of the box. I hope that CB2, when it's released (where can I find the details?), will have similar ease of installation.

Thanks for your help.

Where is the Bootstrap template?

Within CB > Plugin Management. It should already be selected as your profile template within CB > Configuration > User Profile.

My site utilizes Rockettheme/Gantry. Will there be compatibility issues?

No, it's a CB template; not a Joomla template.

Where do I find the GroupJive manual?

You'll need to download the GJ package from the Advanced downloads section. Once unzipped you'll find the manual included.

but they are much easier to setup out of the box

That won't be an issue with CB 2.0. CB 2.0 will be a single install package to install and configure it self and its core modules. It's ready to go immediately out of the box.

I hope that CB2, when it's released (where can I find the details?), will have similar ease of installation.

CB 2.0 installation is significantly more simple due to new install scripts for it to auto configure it self. We do not have a release date for CB 2.0. We are currently in Beta 1 with Beta 2 to release soon (we've planned 3 beta phases, 1 RC, then stable, but this is subject to change). You can find details of what's going into CB 2.0 below.

I apologize if this is off-topic for this discussion thread.

Two questions about CB2:
1. Will multiple registration profile/profile customization be built into the product? Similar to JoomDuck's Community Builder Profile Pro?
2. Will Advanced Search be available? Similar to cbadvancedsearch.com/ ?

And thanks for rapid response to my previous question?

No profile design is still the same. Once we redo more of the frontend we've plans for a GUI to construct profile layouts easily. We've already made 1 step towards this by completely rewriting all of CBs HTML.

2. Will Advanced Search be available? Similar to cbadvancedsearch.com/?

I can't see any reason to use that over CBs normal userlists.
