Was able to find the cause. It's due to having a conditional applied to a progress field. I've removed the conditionals and it works perfectly fine now. I've created the following bug ticket for further investigation; am unsure of progress field or conditional plugin is at fault atm.

forge.joomlapolis.com/issues/3802

Ok thank you... but how would i then have different progress fields for different user groups?

sorry, I can only think of conditionals to do this but I'm sure there is another route.

You can create 2 different tabs then have 2 different access to those tabs with a field on each one. Aside from that there's no other access control.
