[SOLVED] Replacement for Hider was created by tmoran
Hi,

I've already asked this in the Joomla forum and haven't found a solution. Perhaps there is a CB plugin that may do the trick...

Is there a similar plugin to Hider for Joomla 1.7 ?

I want certain parts of an article visible only to logged in users and others sections only visible to guests (Hider no longer works in 1.7, despite being able to instal it!)

Thanks,
Tony.

You can use the CB COntent bot (available to Professional and Developer members from the Incubator page) and use CB Substitutions to hide content based on CB field substitutions.

gid is the field that returns the groupid of user.

So if you want to display only content for superadmins you can do something like:

{cb:[cb:if cb_gid="8"]

This content will only appear for Superadmins

[/cb:if]}

(you can experiment with the [gid] field value for your specific case)

Hi Nant,

This appears to be what I want, although I'm struggling to implement it. I have installed and enabled the Content bot.

I've copied the substitution text you supplied and pasted it into an article which successfully hides the copy but doesn't display it when logged in with the corresponding Joomla User Group.

I have also created CB User Lists and user their id's, but that doesn't work either.

Is there documentation to help me understand how the Content bot and CB Substitutions work?
