Hi,

I use LDAP authentication against Active Directory and therefore I use the inbuit Joomla login form rather than the CB login module. I have it working great so that a new Active Directory user logs into the site and their Joomla account automatically creates and makes them a registered user. CB also creates their account which is great, however if I check the CB User Manager the new user will be unconfirmed and awaiting Admin Approval. I have made changes to the CB configuration tab -> Registration and set Require Admin Approval to 'No' and Require Email Confirmation to 'No' but CB still insists that new users confirm their account and that an adminstrator has to approve the account before they can use it. Please help! :)

You're not using the CB workflows so of course approval and confirmation will do nothing. Those are features unique to CB that Joomla does not know how to handle. Please use CB for your login module. To allow authentication plugin logins please see CB configuration and set "Login field type" accordingly.

Hi Krileon,

Thankyou. At this stage I am now using the CB login module and have set the 'Login Field Type' to Username, email or enabled CMS authentication plugins. This is working to the point that A new Active Directory user can login and their Joomla + CB account is created but they still require Admin Approval and Email Confirmation. They get the following message when they login:

Your registration process is not yet complete! Please check again your email for further instructions that have just been resent. If you don't find the email, check your spam-box. Make sure that your email account options are not set to immediately delete spam. If that was the case, just try logging in again to receive a new instructions email.

Is it at all possible to disable these features?

Seams you've email confirmation configured within CB configuration, please see the registration tab of CB configuration and make changes as necessary to approval and confirm parameters.

Hi Krileon,

Thanks again for your assistance. Unfortunately I currently have Require Admin Approval set to No and Require Email Confirmation set to No as well. Is there a .php file I can check to see whether these parameters are actually off?

Thankyou

Thought this had been resolved, tested using Google and was successful. However, I've no means to test LDAP. The code responsible for auto-confirm and auto-approve of LDAP users is within cb.authentication.php library on lines 67-77. You may want to review using CB Connect which supports Friend Connect allowing login via OpenID, which I believe supports LDAP, and many more sources.
