Yes, I just tried again. still no cbplugin will install.

smod /tmp to 777 does not help.

Upload showPlugins - Upload Failed
ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package.

Upload showPlugins - Failed
Installation file not found:
xxx/httpdocs/tmp/install_4da28e4edd75d/ (file is not present in map.)

to be sure i tried to install the joomla mod for jive. Multi-purpose module displaying various GroupJive content. install successful.

so it,s really a cb problem. I will see your fast answer (for me) this evening. I have to urn some money now ;)

Kind regards.

The error you are seeing:

Cannot find Joomla XML ...

means you are using the Joomla Installer to install a non Joomla package.

You need to use the CB Plugin Manager installer to install a CB plugin.

On next round if needed please provide the exact filename package you are trying to install and the exact installer you are using.

I do not see anywhere the error:

Cannot find Joomla XML ...

;)

As I said I downloaded the groupjive zip. I did unzip the file into a map so all files stay together.

I went to cb => plugin management
tried to install the plugin : added ad post.

returns after the install:

Upload showPlugins - Upload Failed
ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package.

Upload showPlugins - Failed
Installation file not found:
xxx/httpdocs/tmp/install_4da28e4edd75d/

file is not present in the tmp map on the server. The map is smodded 777.

As mentioned before other installs of joomla mods or components in the joomla install do not give any problems.
I did RTFM
I did use the search in the forum
I did look in the FAQ

Questions:
possible fast solution: can I install CB again without deinstall to prevent the loss off data?

Can you tell me where the problem is we are running in and how to solve it?

regards kees

Reinstall of CB will not cause loss of anything. Simply install through Joomals extension manager and it will auto upgrade. Have no idea what you've done to your install to result in failed installs of anything. Please see FAQ regarding Help Us Help You for proper debug procedures. No permissions should be 777, folders should be 755 and files 644.
