Entry not appearing in subscriptions was created by dsohal
When a user selects a paid option from the registration screen and then cancels in the next screen he is saved behind the scenes as a user of the system but he is not saved to the default scheme which in our case is the free one. Have we set something wrong or is this how cbsubs works. we need all registered users to be registered at least to one subscription

If a user cancels they will fall back to CBs hidden free lifetime plan. If you do not allow free registrations then this will block their registration/login. It will not fall back to a free lifetime plan that you've created, that must be selected by the user themselves. If account is confirmed/approved and you require a subscription then simply attempting to login should display plan subscription page for them to select a plan. CBSubs payment step happens AFTER registration, so when a user reaches that point they are already registered to your site as you must be registered to make a payment.

Thanks. Though we still have a problem. When they cancel they still have the account created but however a user confirmation with the token doesnt never get sent out. Hence the account stays unconfirmed because the user never gets a confirmation email

This appears to be known issue as bug #1186. Best way to workaround is configure your plans to require confirmation before purchase. Please configure them as necessary from the workflows tab of your plans.
