If you want to try without risk on your real server, or on a clone of your real one, just reply into this thread before purchasing ;)

www.joomlapolis.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,38/func,view/catid,92/id,95059/#95263

Much easier than setting up twice ;)

I have the same concerns.

Alternately,

("plan B")

Is CBsubs compatable with JACLplus and its custom ACL groups?

Could I use JACLplus to define access rights for a subscription plan (via custom ACL groups) and use CBsubs to control subscription to the JACLplus ACL groups?

Thanks,
Rick

You would have to try. During beta testers had so much problems with ACL extensions (also without and independantly of CBSubs), that we decided to develop and integrate a clean, separate from Joomla one into CBSubs.

So you would need to do your own tests, it might work, but is not part of our supported integrations, so can't tell if it works, and if it works, if it will continue to work in the future...

Are you able to suggest how to go about having "custom" ACL groups in CBSubs without using other components?

I appreciate this is coming in 1.6 however this could be some time in the waiting and I am keen not to use JACL on the site I'm developing - naiively I assumed that when it said ACL was dealt with, it meant that custom ACL's could be created.

Already purchased so I guess this isn't presales any more, but still an answer would be useful :)

CBSubs does not create or alter ACLs. You can change a users ACL based on plan (author, admin, etc..), but can not create new ones.
