Searching register users Medical Website

Hi people, I need some feedback, after a short benchmark we get to CB and seems the right Joomla Extension we need.

For a medical association, we have an amount of 5.000+ registered doctors in the Joomla v3.2x site, we want to have a public search button or similar so a public visitor can search for a doctor (the hold list or by name or last name, region city, clinic/hospital, age, gender, speciallity, etc or what we want to publish) and get the results if the doctor belongs to this association (other can be if the doctor is available in between 2 dates (calendar), etc. The doctor could manage open/blok this date range).

The backend should allow us to customize the register form and later the profiles could be edited by the users. We need to define which fields will be mandatory and public or private as default and which could be managed by the doctors.

So we hope CB free suscription can do all this, we need to install on a Joomla 3.2x and test it with a client in their site to see the performance and than go to the next level suscription in the short time.

I know CB is much more than what we need for now, but our basic request are mandatory to have before thinking in all other option CB offer.

So we need a module it allow to search inside the registered directory and get the info (we decide to make public) about this doctor w/o go inside the system or call the association, this is for public visitors (for sure for private should work either).

Any comments before go ahead and invest time in testing?

I will try to address your questions/issues as best I can below ...

With CB 1.9.1 on Joomla 3.2 you can create a public CB User List and make it searchable for the CB fields you configure. This was guests viewing the list can search.

For the availability aspect you will most likely need some kind of calendar extension (search Joomla Extension Directory for something that matches your requirements and has CB integration).

The backend should allow us to customize the register form and later the profiles could be edited by the users. We need to define which fields will be mandatory and public or private as default and which could be managed by the doctors.

You can add CB Fields from the backend CB Fields Manager in CB 1.9.1.
You can mark fields to show during registration process or not and to be mandatory or not.

For privacy you will need the CB Privacy add-on which is available to paid members (Advanced, Pro or Dev).
