ProfileGallery Module or Ajax File fieldtype

Hello,
I used to use Profilegallery about 6 years ago to let users be able to upload their CVs to the backend and for the public to view and/or download them. I don't need any more functionality.
I see now that there's also Ajax File fieldtype which would be more suited to my needs. Can someone clarify the differences for me and let me know which would be best in my case.

With the Ajax file field plugin you can create new CB file fields (as many as you need).

Users will be able to upload a single file for a single field.

Suggestion: Advanced membership gets you both plus maintenance releases and support for full year (and other add-ons also).
