CBSubs upgrade question. was created by JBDXLT123
Hi, we currently use v1.2.2 for subscriptions and it seems to be doing fine on our J1.5.26 site.
We are considering a migration, and as I understand it, all CB components need to be upgraded before a migration to J2.5 can occur.
Are there problems upgrading from CB 1.7 and CBSubs 1.2.2 to the latest 1.9 and 3.0?

I read that migration is problematic, even with JUpgrade. Is there any way practical around it?

Thanks,
Jeff.

Upgrade is easy on J 1.5.26 (as long as you didn't "hack" or modify the CB php files): Just install each extension over.

Now it's even easier: Once CBSubs GPL is purchased: In "Downloads" menu, a "CB Packager" sub-menu will appear: There you can assemble a single package with all what you need and have access to (if you want at same time to install or upgrade other add-ons, get corresponding Advanced or Professional membership, and automatically those extra plugins will appear there as possible choices), and that upgrades in Joomla installer CB, all modules, CBSubs and its plugins and modules that you selected with a single click.

All user data will stay and be upgraded automatically for the new version.

As usual, of course take a full backup before an upgrade.

And if you plan to migrate to 2.5, you should upgrade CB and CBSubs to latest first on the 1.5 site before using JUpgrade (that supports CB and all CB plugins including CBSubs to my knowledge) to migrate from 1.5 to 2.5.
