I am developing a clan site for online gaming and am using CB for the membership. The issue I have is that I need to be able to setup content to be viewable by public, registered and member so that different items are available for different groups.
I have looked at several of the ACL type plugins and cant find anything that really works for my need. My question is can I distinquish content using the CBSUB and add that only to a member once they obtain that status? Is there a way to setup moderated membership without a payment or designate a different class if a member pays a fee each month. I like the idea of charging a small fee to raise revenue but also need a non paid member level.
Will this addon do what I need or am I barking up the wrong tree? Any insight would be great before I spend $143 US to see that this wont work. Overall I love CB and what all it does and it is perfect for the situation I am working with.

Yes, using Plans you can give users different access to various locations of your site.

Yes, free plans are supported. There is no payment moderation aside for usage of Offline payments (check or cash).
