Transition PROMA to CBSubs was created by val1723
Hello,

A while back, when CBSubs wasn't in existence yet, I purchased PROMA to manage multiple profiles. It never worked well as the tab control was defective and didn't really hide tabs for one profile or another.

Now that I see CB Subs, I think it would be the perfect solution, but I am unsure of how to make the transition. I have 5 profile types currently setup with PROMA. If I uninstall it to move to CBSubs, will I loose all the current classifications for the profiles that are already registered under a specific type?

Is there anything (other than backing up) that I should do to ensure a smooth transition?

I appreciate any information because I am ready to jump in, but afraid it will mess things up on my site. Thanks!

Yes, CBSubs has no migration tool. All previous data provided by Proma will be lost upon its uninstall. If the information is stored in _comprofiler then it will remain once Proma is removed. You should install CBSubs then setup your plans as close to your Proma design as possible then remove Proma is my best suggestion.

Don't know exactly what your use case is, so this is a guess:

If your 5 profile types can be mapped to 5 CBSubs subscription plans, then you can use the CBSubs import functionality to initialize things on your new environment - as long as you have some mapping available (which userid has which profile type).
