Hi vscibe,

Sorry to ask a basic question:

- is cbpaidsubsbot installed and enabled ?

- could you efficiently protect anything at all ?

btw: You shouldn't put Itemid in the protection of the URL, as that can change, if you omit the Itemid=21 part, it will still protect urls with Itemid in there.

No worries on the basic questions! :)

Yes- we did install and it does protect content such as articles.

Took Item ID OUT - no luck - still displays everything in Kunena.

I ONLY put this in the Content PROTECT URL field:
index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=pluginclass&plugin=cbpaidsubscriptions&do=displayplans&plans=7

Not anymore hopefully ?

This is the EXACT url I am putting in the protect field.

option=com_kunena&Itemid=21&func=listcat&catid=6

That one ?

Ok, we need to be very precise here to be able to help fast :) :

1) What do you put exactly in the URL protection for that plan (that the user is not subscribed to) ?

2) What exact URL do you have put in the URL of your browser supposing the entire page would be protected and it doesn't ?

Not sure I quite understand what you are asking, but here goes.

In the subscription I setup - call it Plan "A"

I have told it that if you buy Plan A you can ONLY access a single forum topic.

So its: Kunena forum - topic, topic, topic and posts in each. Plan a equates to allowing access to TOPIC "A" only.

I obtained that URL by visiting the forum - noting the URL, and pasting it in the PROTECT URL Field.

I got there from: PLAN (from plugin) - then select the PLAN A - then I selected Integrations, Then Extensions.

From there I tried both protecting Kunena and Not protecting Kunena,

but in the box: BY URL PARTS I have this:

option=com_kunena&func=listcat&catid=6

Only. That is the way I understand from all the posts here, and the docs. However now when I subscribe to PLAN A I see Kunena and ALL forums, topics, posts

not the Posts for the TOPIC in Plan A.

Hopefully that is what you're asking - thanks for the help!

Don't think that the understanding is right here...

Let's explain a bit...

URL protection in plan A protects URL containing those parts from being accessed when you DON'T have subscription to plan A.

So e.g. if you have in Plan A's protect URL:

option=com_kunena&func=listcat

then if you don't have Plan A subscription, access to these URLs will not be allowed:

www.example.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=listcat
www.example.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=listcat&catid=6
www.example.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=listcat&catid=123456
www.example.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=listcat&catid=6&ItemId=33

If those URL come in browser URL, CBSubs redirects user to a subscription or upgrade page, depending if user is logged in or if it's a guest.

(users with active subscription to plan A would have access fine)

But this would be allowed for everybody:

www.example.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view
www.example.com/index.php?option=com_kunena

So URL won't protect by miracle particular sub-forums or topics.

For that you would need a specific Kunena integrations plugin (that doesn't exist yet), and probably changes in Kunena too...

Is there any such Subs plugin for any forum or forum component, currently?

Is there any estimated timeline?

Thanks,
Ken
