Hi!
I'm from Russia, and our users also. So when they try to load an image (their profile picture), with the file name in cyrillic - CB write and error. Here is an examle:

The file: Бамолюк Н.Π“. Ρ„ΠΎΡ‚ΠΎ.jpg
The error:

(Translation:
Error
Profile avatar : Please, choose an image for upload.
)

And when I renamed this image like this: Samoljuk N.G. photo.jpg
Everything works fine.

Because of this problem many users are writing, that they cannot register on our site.

Where can be the problem? Pleae help.

PS: I added the file it self.

Thanks for reporting.

Next time please give version numbers as requested here:
www.joomlapolis.com/forum/147-potential-bug/226964-read-before-posting

Was able to confirm with CB 2.0.7 and opened a ticket for investigation/fix for upcoming CB release.

1. Joomla 3.3.6
2. CB 2.0.7
3. PHP Version 5.3.29, MySQL: mysqlnd 5.0.8-dev (not sure for mysql)

The most funny is that the file:
Бамолюк Н.Π“. Ρ„ΠΎΡ‚ΠΎ.jpg - gives an error
And the file:
Бамолюк Н.Π“. Ρ„ΠΎΡ‚ΠΎ1.jpg - upload's correctly.

Is it possible please to repair this bug the soon as possible, because we're doing advertising of it and we are loosing 50% of our clients, 'cause a big part of them are older than 40 and when they get this error, they go away from our site?
So this problem has a high priority.

Well, CB is free, code is open. Feel free to propose a fix.

From this end we have taken following steps:

1. Immediately investigated the report (thanks again)
2. Replicated locally
3. Opened a tracker item (posted URL)

Once addressed it will be fixed in master and it will be made available through our nightly build processes (these are currently available to paid members) and then pushed to next point release.

That is the process we follow based on available resources.

Of course if you provide a code fix, things might go faster.

Could you please point me approximately in which files or folders I have to look to repair this problem (thought I'm not a programmer, but I have basic knowledge in PHP and other languages)?
