Profile change not possible with IE8

Hi there,

I am using CB 1.9.1 on a Joomla 2.5.16 plattform.
Some users noted me, that they are not able to change their profile with IE8.
When they hit the submit button, nothing happens.

I have tried this with IE11 and there is no problem.

Is there any idea, what could cause this problem and how to fix it.

Hi there,

I have been trying to eliminate all possible failure causes and still could not fix this issue.

I am using standard Joomla template but still the problem remains unchanged.
Also when I am logging in as a superadmin, still can not update my profile.
So template and user rights issues are excluded.

Also I checked, if there are any JS and CSS errors, but there are none.

Everything except Profil update works no problem and the problem only occurs at IE8/9. No problem for FF/Chrome and other IE edition.

Any advise, where elsoe I could look to fix this problem would be MOST appreciated.

Can you replicate the issue on a clean Joomla/CB site without anything else installed?

I will try this and come back.
But this is not a realistic approach, because I am having a very complex and busy Joomla website.

I was hoping that someone here would have an idea, what could be a specific problem of IE8/9 in relation to the CB functionality.

I checked this forum and found posts poiting to a user right issue. Others suspected CSS or JS errors. Any other hint or direction, which I could investigate, would be great.

Well if it is CB related then you should be able to replicate on a clean site without anything else installed - if you cannot replicate then it is most likely not CB related.

Hi Nick,

I have removed all installed components gradually and checked, if the issue would disappear.

Finally I found, that this problem was caused by the Geocode Factory plugin for CB.
I will get in touch with them and try to get the latest version.
