Fake user creation was created by steph66
Hi, I have a big problem annoying my website.
I'm running Joomla 2.5.9 and Community Builder 1.9 on www.ilricettevole.it .
Even if I have Captcha working a get a lot of fake registration from strange user (I think are online gamer or similar!)
Up to now the only way to stop them from registering is to block user registration, but that's not my intention.
I checked for eventually updated version but doesn't exist.
How I can stop this bloody flooding.
Thanks for your help
Stefano

Here is how your "fake" users are registering:

www.ilricettevole.it/index.php?option=com_users&view=registration

you still have joomla registration on.

Please ready your README-NEW-INSTALL.txt (part of the CB 1.9 distribution) or one of these references:

www.joomlapolis.com/support/tutorials/111-picture-books/18265-community-builder-quick-start

not a bug - just a configuration error on your part.

Nick,
Unfortunately I still have the problem even if I disabled Joomla registration. Is probably related because in CB registration I don't have captcha?
Thanks for your help.

If these "fake" users are showing up in your CB User Manager with red X in their summary row, then these are not getting in through CB - they must be getting in via joomla or some other extension.

If no red X appear then they are getting in via CB and you would need to add some captcha measures.

Advanced membership has CB Captcha plugin and Professional membership has the even better Antispam plugin.
