Loss of Ajax Email checker was created by xpatman
Hi
I have just noticed that my Ajax Email checker has stopped one my main sites, so I checked the others (5)and ALL of them it has also stopped working

My sites are on different severs and use different set ups and they all were working before the last upgrade

Did you change something, I know it an experimental feature but It has become very useful

Regards
James

Not a bug.

Fact that Ajax email checker can no longer work on your site might just mean that your host is blocking outgoing requests needed in order for email checker to work.

This is not a bug.

Ok
I get the 'Not a bug' thing but having 5 sites on three different servers via three different hosts and all were working when first set up does make me wonder 'Could it be a bug'

Cheers

There are 3 parameters here:

CB code
Hosting environment
Email server

I assume the CB code did not change from the time things were working until now that things are not working. So using your line of thinking ... how could existing code that was working and did not change all of a sudden have a bug?

So either your hosting environments changed or the email address (? - maybe you should test more than one?) are on servers which no longer accept such checking.
