Hi.

I am a teacher, and i would like to create a site using Joomla to use with my students.

I have some questions about the resources that i would be able to use...

Is there a component to follow, record, and show (report) to the teacher, all the actions of the student?

By student
* What did he do?
* How many time he stayed conected? Where?
* Wich polls and quizzes did he answered?
* Wich texts did he read? And commented?
* Wich posts did he read and replied at the fórum?

Who interected with who?

By activitie
* Wich students downloaded some archive? When?
* Wich students accessed some article? When?
* Wich students posted a comment in a certain article?
* Wich students posted a reply in a forum post?
* Wich students answered a poll ou quizz?

This kind of resource could be very useful to a teacher!!!

I dont know how to do this... is it possible?

Does exist this component?

If yes, someone could tell me the link to download?

If no, i sugest the development of that... It would be very, very useful, not only for teachers!

Thanks a lot.

Carlos Eduardo.

To borrow a line from "Caddyshack", "This isn't Russia. Is this Russia? This isn't Russia."

A keylogger would do the trick but I doubt you'd get too many kids to sign up for this site if they knew their every move was being watched...

It is possible to write a "big brother" plugin using CB plugin API and Joomla plugin API. Due to ethical reasons it is unlikely that anyone wants to code such a thing just for fun.

The comments were not against your intentions, but just a general explanation of why this kind of things do not exists.

To get started, download plugin API documentation from this site (under RC2 documents at dowloads) and then familiarize yourself with documents found at developer section of www.joomla.org

Alternatively you can hire someone to code this for you. What you want is quite specific and hence unlikely to be found for free to download and run.

Drupal does this, to a great degree. It can log all the links you (or anyone else) clicked on, and even if someone created new menu's, blog entries, etc. I doubt if it will actually log the content itself, as this will take up a lot of space, but it could.

So, maybe fiddle around with the loggin facility in Joomla, and see if you can come up with something.
