Learn how to create a plugin

Hi,

I'm not a CB plugin developer but would like to be.

Where is the best place to start to learn?

I have some ideas including bridges/connectors for Joomla to some external programs, but am not sure where to start learning so I could get these out and contirbute back to the community.

I intend to release anything I do as GPL of course.

Well, I would do the following:

+ download and read the API document (download area of this site)
+ study some of the plugins already working with CB (start with the actual core plugins distributed with CB - look in the components->plugins->user area.

Ask alot of questions.
Do alot of trial and error.
