Customize pagination was created by HHZV_Plons
The default pagination of a list contains the HTML-characters &laquo, &lsaquo, &rsaquo and &raquo. I don't like these characters and I would like to change them into icons. I have found the file in which the characters are used, it's: \libraries\CBLib\CB\Legacy\cbPageNav.php

I tried to override this library file by creating the exact same folders and subfolders in my template's html folder, but that didn't work. How can I override these HTML-characters and change them?

Override them using CSS. Do not modify core code as you will lose your changes on every update. For example next links have the cbPageNavNext CSS class on their container and cbPageNavLink CSS class on the link it self. The below for example changes the next character to a fontawesome icon.
