Upgrade 1.9 to 2.0.14

Is upgrading from CB 1.9 to 2.0.14 as easy as installing the latest version?
will it retain all the users and their passwords?
I also want to upgrade Joomla to 3.5: would it be better to update CB first or Joomla first?

I would upgrade from CB 1.9 to CB 2.0.14 - but make sure you have new CB Plugins at hand since existing ones may not be compatible.

As always take full backup before upgrading and better yet test upgrade on a cloned site first.

to clarify: to install 2.0.14, do i just install the new version on top of 1.9?
and to verify: the users and their passwords will remain the same?

Yes - or course user data and passwords will be kept intact.

Please download and study the CB Primer Book and check out the video tutorials - there is valuable information regarding upgrades.

If you follow previous advise and do upgrade process on a cloned environment you will be able to verify things yourself.
