groupings upon registration

is it possible to group user's upon registration ?
like there was a field that will be fill up to group themselves.
example the registration of student and teacher

Download CB Primer BOOK and study it and then look at CB User lists and list filtering off CB fields.

sir i mean is, it can be possible that in the registration form a user will choose in a drop down (single field) then they will be grouped.

example sir
the field contains Teacher and Student
if the user was a teacher it has the access for some page and if a student it will be restricted for some page

and what plug in should i purchase
