CB Core Fields Ajax editing of Avatar in CB 2 was created by Buzz50
I have resisted renewing my subscription as the ability to Ajax edit/upload avatars is of paramount importance to me and my Buzz50.com members.

In the topic I raised www.joomlapolis.com/forum/153-professional-member-support/229617-avatar-disappears-after-enabling-cb-core-fields-ajax-201 I explained what was happeneing.

Has this been addressed yet or is there a workaround?

There is no room for ajax editing of avatar in the canvas position. I have to develop custom CSS to allow it to fit nicely. No it has not been fixed. I've a ticket to look into trying to get that working in a later release, but no idea when. My focus at this time is rewriting GJ.

Thanks krileon, I also use GJ and am looking forward to the new version.

If I move the avatar off the canvas will the ajax editing work for the avatar?

Can the canvas itself be ajax edited? (Sorry if you have previously answered this)

Yes, the ajax editing works it just doesn't display right due to the strict CSS used to have the canvas display.

Yes, but it has the same issue as the avatar. Both need custom styling and both are noted in the forge ticket. There's a lot of issues with allowing ajax editing there though. The CSS isn't too hard if it's just standard upload, but if gallery is enabled having a way to display that properly will be an issue.

Is the Ajax uploading of avatars available yet?

I am still unsure about subscribing again as being able to upload a new avatar easily has proved to be vital in keeping new members. CB 1.9.1 does this incredibly well and easily.

All the other brilliant CB bits such as the new GroupJive and Auto Actions are amazing but if a new member has to go through a menu system to upload an avatar then mine seem to simply not bother and leave.

Am I missing something or are avatars a thing of the past?

(Buzz50 is an over 50s site!)
