Hello,
I know that a rewrite of GroupJive is underway according to other forum posts, and there is one issue that should be taken care of while doing this. When a group administrator wants to invite users to their group GJ offers an invite via email tool. When the group administrator enters the email address and clicks to send the invite the email generated has the FROM: field inserted with the group adminsitrators email. The problem is when using the FROM: field with the group administrators email address this will cause DMARC failure for any users who have an AOL email address. The FROM: email address should be inserted as the website admin email or some other selected email that a DMARC policy has been created for the domain's IP. That may be a little technical, but its a real problem. Right now if a group adminsitrators email is person@aol.com and they invite a user with a gmail, aol, msn, or yahoo email address to their group, the email will bounce because of the DMARC infraction.
Hope this makes sense. We have had to go edit this code in our GJ invite in order to avoid bounces. I am confident other large organizations will follow suite with similar DMARC policy as AOL has now enforced.
Thanks
James
