Yes, both links seem to be using Community Builder.
Since I am rebuilding the site for him I am wanting to ask, does it seem a bit overkill/underkill to use CB for such a huge database?
Size of database is not relevant - we have over 500K users in our Joomlapolis database and CB is working like a charm here.
If I do it this way doesn't it mean that each user would only be able to have one car in the DB? If you were going to recreate this would you do it in CB or would you try to do it in some other way? If so what would that component be?
CB is not a directory listing extension.
So, yes, each car listing would have to be a user in CB/Joomla.
You might want to look at a Joomla directory extension on the JED but you can also use CB with this if you want.
