Hello,
How do I change the width of the tabs on the profile page?
Ive attached a picture and as you can see, the tab is not large enough for the text.
Thanks

The only quick method I can see is to adjust your css coding. for .Tab which is what control the size.

The width of the tab can be adjusted using the
width: 70px;
you will need to adjust it to the size to fit your words in. please note this will adjust all tabs as they are not selected.

The image that makes the background is a fixed size so adding
backgroud-size:115px;
will allow you to make the background image to the correct size

to adjust the selected tab do the same to
.tab.selected

hope that this helps you somewhat.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Yes, it helps a great deal.
This is probably a silly question, but where do I find the .css file for CB?
I think I am looking in totally the wrong place..... :(

that will depend on your site, but it should be in template.css or style.css

If your using Joomla 3.xx
In the back end navigate to:
Extensions - Template Manager

On the page that opens it will list your templates that are installed. Under the coloumn Template click on the template name your using.

You will then be able to click on CSS on the left which will show all the template css files. From there look for template.css and then search for the .tab string and then .tab.selected string to allow you to edit them.

Depending on your specific template will depend on how successful this is. On my template it's set to import from another location. If yours is similar you should be able to create a template override css page, this is template specific again.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I am using Joomla 3.xx
Under the css folder there is the template.css file, but I cant find the .tab string or the .tab.selected string.
I copied the whole thing into notepad and tried various ways to search for that text.
What am I doing wrong?

to find out which css file it is in if your using chrome right click on the tab and select inspect element.

The window that's now shown at the bottom should have .tab highlighted and you will see it on the pain in the right hand side.
That shows the element your working on and where it's getting it's css from. hovering your mouse over the template name should give you the location/file name...

or you can just work through each css file till you find it! The above method is better as you can make changes on the fly (although not saved) so you can see what happens when you change the css for the page your on.

Failing that pm me your website address and I will have a look.
