Just installed a fresh Joomla 1.6.3 and CB 1.4. Text boxes seem to be about 25px, no matter what I set the fields to, textarea is the same width, but expandable in FF5, static in IE9. Tried playing with both field configuration in CB and CSS for CB & template. Can't seem to change it. Checked MySQL and the field sizes are recorded properly in the database, so it seems like it would have to be CSS issue. But there isn't anything in my site template for textareas, so I'm back to looking at CB CSS.

Attached the screenshot from IE. The text fields are supposed to be 45px and the textarea should be 500px (100% width).

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Did you try the rows, columns parameters in the textarea field configuration?

Yes, used column/row settings in CB field config. Checked DB and found those settings properly recorded in jos_comprofiler_fields. But the size of the textsrea does not change when the row/column settings change.

Problem solved. Issue was in layout.css of template. Caused by style attributes for .inputbox. Had a width set to .9em. Checking carefully for unintended consequences in other pages, but so far all is well.

Thanks for the quick feedback. CB is such a great extension. It's always the first thing I add to fresh installs. You guys rock!

Was there any issue with changing the css to expand the input box width. This might help what I am looking for, if not I really would like to change the registration form to a 3 column layout where the question is in the left column, the input box is in the middle column, and the info and required logo's are in the right column. I am hoping that this is going to be possible if your edit doesn't work.
