Please check tab permissions within Tab Management. Would seam you have no tabs available that are published and public for display on Registration. The error in question is referring to obtaining fields edit display.
You need to have a public and published tab in tab management that has fields assigned to it so users may register. The username, name, password, and email fields must always be present (name wll change based on format specified in configuration).
