forgot password email not working

forgot password email not working was created by arabhishek
I have joomla 1.5.22 installed with community builder 1.3.1.

When i click on forgot password link, and then try to recover my username or password by entering email,username etc., after clicking submit, I get a confirmation message that your username/password is sent to ur email address.But the message email is not sent to the user email.All other mails like registration emails etc. work fine.I hv checked that there is no index.html file in my site root.What to do?

What email method are you using? SMTP? PHPMailer? We were not able to confirm in a test install; forgot login emails sent just fine. Please test with debug mode and maximum error reporting within Joomla global configuration.

I m using phpmailer.I did try with debug mode on and error reporting maximum, but I dont have much knowledge of debugging joomla,So was not able to figure out the exact issue.Let me explain to you the issue in a bit of detail.This is what happens:-

I open my site and try to recover my password by clicking on forgot password link in cb login module.The forgot password page comes up.I enter my email/username and check for it to be validated by site.once it says ,email exists.then I click submit.After that,the page redirects to my home page,below a few articles on the frontpage,(below all the articles),I get the success message that my password is sent to my email.I go and check my emails,but I have not got any email.

To add to this,I open my website using other browser on my same PC ,and see that the email confirmation message is still there on the frontpage.this happens a few times.sometimes,I see the email confirmation message on top of while browsing other pages using the same browser or different browser.

I had this issue on CB 1.2.3 also and I thought upgrading may solve my problem but it didn't.All other mail mechanisms of CB are working perfectly like registration etc.Even,I m able to email users by going to their profile.

I tried disabling plugins, disabling/clearing cache, disabling joomla SEF plugin etc. but none of them helped.I dont have any SEF component installed.What should I do more?

I don't know exactly how but somehow I solved the problem.mails are now delivered to the email accounts.was just fiddling with setting plugins on and off and changing parameters in global config.
This is my current settings which I was changing :
SEF PLUGIN = ON
CACHE PLUGIN = ON
SYSTEM CACHE = OFF/ON ( DOESN'T MATTERS)
USE SEF URL'S = NO


But there is one problem.Suppose i have 2 accounts registered on my site with emails abcd@abcd.com and xyz@xyz.com.I go and click forgot password and enter my first mail (abcd@abcd.com).on clicking submit ,I get the confirmation message that my password is sent to my email ABCD@ABCD.COM. then,I again go and click forgot password. and this time enter my second account details with XYZ@XYZ.COM .but again I get the previous confirmation message,that my details are mailed to ABCD@ABCD.COM in place of XYZ.COM.Then i navigate to another page, And there, on top of the page, i get the new confirmation message,that my account details are sent my email XYZ.COM.How can i solve this?

How can i solve this?

Seams like you've some sort of caching enabled on your site. That's just Joomlas message tag and of course the details of User2 weren't sent to User1.
