New Module ! Cb Search Simple was created by justberare
Hi,

I made a little module myself. It's not a lot but it can help. (it's my first module actually).

Here it what it does : it display a simple Community-Builder search form with a link for a advanced Search.

You must have CB_search installed to use it.

Attachment mod_simpleCBsearch.zip not found

That's it !

Hey this works great! I had to modify it though since the text at the bottom was in french. Then I just decided to take that text out completely...

I had a problem with the width too. I wanted the search in one of my columns which are about 170px wide. The search box was extending beyond the column so I took out the width parrameters and it worked great.

I also took out the background color so that the background was the same as my site.

Lastly I made the search field and icon small enough to fit in one line to save space in my column: see pic.

It's strange I can't actually get this module to work in joomla 1.0.8

The first error I had was the location of the "search.gif" file, which I changed in:

./modules/mod_cbsearchfront1.php

this line:

<input type="image" src="/components/com_cb_search/images/search.gif" alt="Search" align="top" style="border: 0px;" />

to:

<input type="image" src="/components/com_comprofiler/images/search.gif" alt="Search" align="top" style="border: 0px;" /> -->

Once that gif now showed up, I tried a user search and it just displays:

The page you are trying to access does not exist.
Please select a page from the main menu.

Did you experience anything like this?

After the above, I also made simple mods to remove the french thing on the bottom, remove the additional bar on the top (removing the "br" and "/br" tags), but I couldn't figure out how to remove the lower bar to make it one line like you did, and also how to put the search gif on the right.

I've unpublished it for now.

Any ideas?

Michael.
