Column based userslist

Hello!

Right now the userlist is being displayed as rows, where a row represents each user, etc. I wanted to know how to create a set of rows and columns which would display users in an array (single table cell for each person).

I hope you see what I'm saying; I wanted to basically have a bunch of avatars with snippets of info under each, to allow for more people per page...
