Hey Chris, I'm definitely interested as I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Paying a small fee for it would be ok with me too ;)

I also think being able to do a user search (maybe using the advanced search plugin) and having the option of plotting the results onto a Google map would be kickass..

I just wanted to jump on the train and say that I would also love to see this plugin tie into CB. The search feature that Syrinx mentioned is also something that I have on my todo list for my website, and if I could get that functionality out of a plugin I'd be happy to slip you some cash for saving me some time. Looking forward to this one!

Add my voice to the enthusiastic chorus. And if it is paying for a pro-version then I can understand. Here's my wish list:

- integration with community builder
- our users are across Europe (lots in UK) so if you are geocoding then that might be an issue for us
- ability for user to drag and drop their marker to correct it's position
- if you're geocoding or reading a file from a geocoder then the component would need to check to see if a persons long and lat had changed (some other map systems fall down on this)
- mouse over map pin for some details from CB profile (would be great to be able to select from admin which fields were displayed!)
- mouse click on map pin to redirect to profile of that CB user

Happy to help beta test on our site www.incarnate-network.eu
Go for it Chris

Chris is making progress on integrating GMaps and CB. :):)

Check out this post of his on his forum, which includes a demo link:
Go to this site ... firestorm-technologies.com/gmapsdemo/index.php

Register and the check out the viewmap. This is VERY ROUGH and am not sure how this works for Europe. I tried it, my friend tried and after we registered, it seemed to plot our location.

I did find it somewhat "buggy" yesterday since it geocoded an address in the Carribbean which was way off. I am still somewhat skeptical of the accuracy of the Google Geocode.

Let me know if it worked for you. The only point of this demo is to show what could be possible and that I am able to pull data from the profile in CB to render a map of where users are located.

The avatar issue is still being addressed.

Worked for me.. though the marker was a few hundred feet from my actual location.
