I need a little help with this nice plugin.

I have 2 types of users: let's say 'users1' and 'users2' (and a database field cb_type which can have a value of either users1 or user2) and a tab called "special tab".

I want to achieve the following:

-profiles of 'users2' not to have "special tab";
-'users2' cand see the "special tab" in "users1" profiles;

Is this possible with Privacypolicy?

I tried to use several "select" conditions, but I had no success in accomplishing both conditions, only one at the time.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

A little help on this question, please? Still no luck, after a lot of trial and error...

This is not possible with privacy policy. It does not disable a tab, simply hides the content when tab is viewed. Advanced Profile Control can disable and enable tabs for different users.

Hey everyone :)

Wondered if anyone would be so good as to assist me regarding Mikko's lovely Privacy Policy plugin...

I'd like to do a condition that shows tabs only to users who are in the Authors Group or above, but after looking at the nest of tables am lost as to how to get there with the SQL statement (very new to Joomla, but finding it to be a great product).

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Cheers,
Phil

Bump you on this one :)

I assume that the commercial component "Advanced Profile Control" from Mikko will also do this. However as I read from the feature list I would still have to use SQL commands to get it working so I will not get any further in my quest to have user hidden information in CB - not visible even when user edits his/her profile.

Cheers,
Asbjørn

Advanced Profile Control comes with several pre-configured access control policies. These include 'Admin only' and 'Authors and above'.

The next minor version comes with a small wizard for creating the SQL queries, so it will get a lot easier without sacrificing the power of the system.
