After having a cuppa, i suddenly realised that i could put the referral code into a module, this i have done and has some configuration, such as allowing ip checking and setting the warnings. This makes the set complete, but if you want to like add points when someone has wrote something, i don't think it is possible but to include some sort of code.

check it out on bsay.co.uk

the code for referral is
bsay.co.uk/?ref=123

where you should see warnings if you enter it wrong. Maybe in a few days or maybe tommrow i will release the beta version. However i need to concentrate on my website but if you want more suggestions - give me an email at bulldogsay (at) gmail.com as i am wanting a few ideas:

currently planned

1: allow custom image per rank, instead of multiples of images
2. try and sort out the error so it does it in joomla and not java script
3. cannot think of more - must be tired

The shop integration would be so cool!

It's looking good.

Try this on for size. Just a beta release, more refining yet to come.

I've gotten a simple referral scheme working.

You need to install have TFSforMambo Installed and Community builder, then install the plugin above.

Then activate the Referrals plug in in Community Builder
Then activate the Referrals tab and change the fieldname to the field that contains your website name in CB (usually "website") for the built in CB

Then in the user profile it will show a link called Referrals with the number of referrals from your domain, That is if the website field contains content and a valid domain.

You can check it out in action at www.joscommunity.com

Tell me what you think

yeh, your plugin is just based on the referral module but i am trying to get it into a point/reward system so it is more of a community layout. I think i will add more options for it, to make it more configurable, such as you have to edit the database to be able to set up ranks to what you want.

Hi Bulldogsay,

Looks like I might be making some progress on the mod_recommend hack, which we could integrate with the referral program to generate email invites that include clickable links that include the referral id!

Whattaya think?

sound good that, sorry about the problems but today i have had flipping a pile of work to do, which included yesterday aswell. So now, the only thing i have to do, is change the name of the plugin so it looks better.

could you sign up and possibly submit the code for that mod_recommend hack, as I wouldn't mind having a go on it...

thanks Luke
