Authorbot Query was created by gregpill
Evening all - & pre-apologies if this is dealt with already - can't find an answer myself though.

I have (what seems to be) a fairly unique situation. Briefly:
the client admins the site directly (Joomla) and has Authorbot installed successfully.

He has a bunch of pre-written articles (from a hardcopy Yearbook) that he wants to add to the site and credit back to the original authors. He has scanned the articles, OCR'ed them, and pasted them into new article content screens. He then nserts the original authors users name into the "Author Alias" field and publishes.

On front-end, article appears find, authors name as a link in the Written By: line. But when clicking on this authors name, the user is taken to the Admins profile page, and not the author.

Is we doing something wrong, have we missed something?
Any help apppreciated.
Ta.

Don't go the author alias route -- instead, you'll have to set up each "writer" as a user in joomla and give them author status. You can then select them as author from the drop down in back end.

Make sense? Depending on the number of articles, it could be a lot of work!

Dan
