I modified the standadr Joomla mass mail component so that instead of choosing which user group to mail, the administrator can construct a query against the users' CB profiles. If it seems that other people like this modification, I will make it a component for Joomla.
The files replace normal massmail files and there is nothing else that needs to be done. If someone has time and willigness, the filtering functionality could be easily added to the userlist thus making searchable list.
This is still work in progress in terms of usability and security, and should thus not be used in production site. (There is still an SQL injection vulnerability that can be used if malicious user gets access to the component)
