I am making a website for my team which uses yahoo groups for the mailing list.
I was hoping to get rid of the yahoo group signe up box on the website and have the user registration sign people up using xml over http (which I have no experience with). My back up is to hack into the registration process to add an other prefilled page that submits the information.
The form below is the striped down version of what Yahoo provides.:
[code:1]
<form method="get" action="
sports.groups.yahoo.com/subscribe/MYTEAM
">
<input type="text" name="user" value="enter email address" size="20">
<input type="image" border="0" alt="Click here to join MYTEAM"
name="Click here to join MYTEAM"
src="
us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/yg/img/i/us/ui/join.gif
">
</form>[/code:1]
I can probably hack into this like I hacked the LMO component but since I have never worked with CB plugins or XMLoverHTTP the learning curve may take me some time.
Does anyone see a use for a more generic plugin and would anyone be willing to work on it?
It would be awesome if we could configure the registration to send a form in this way. The admin could provide a URL and a tab with the information to submit. The submition would be done automatically when the user is validated/activated!
