White Page when changing language file

I am using joomla 1.7.5, and with 1.5 I did not have this problem, but when I go to add some terms to the language file the whole community builder completely errors out and I have to reinstall from scratch. I mean I have to completely erase all that has to do with cb, and completely re-install everything. What is it about 1.7.5, that makes cb error out, when it never did it with 1.5.

This is the error i get when debugging:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/egnation/public_html/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/language/default_language/default_language.php on line 1.

Again all I did was change the terminology of the language. I didn't touch the coding on the first line. And also it only happens with version 1.7 of joomla, 1.5 worked perfectly fine.

you should never touch the default language files.

You should install the english plugin and make changes there.

Alright I understand exactly what you are saying nant, I just have one problem how does this plugin install with no xml file in the zip file. Is this a manual installation, or am I downloading the wrong file? I went to your link and downloaded the zip file, that was available. So, I am gathering I am downloading the wrong file. Is there any way possible you could direct me to the installation file?

I got it to work now I'm confused does this override the definitions of the language file that you guys wrote. I am trying to change some of the definitions that you guys wrote for the main language file. For example, the profile image definition, I want it to say avatar instead of profile image. Alright, back to work but I will be back really soon.
