[SOLVED] 1146 Table 'l******t_jooml**.josgt_cbsubs_payments' doesn't exist

3 years 2 months ago - 3 years 2 months ago #326153 by RebeccaWool
Hello,

Just installed CB Subs and it shows this error upon saving configuration and settings in the backend.

1146 Table 'l******t_jooml**.josgt_cbsubs_payments' doesn't exist

Reinstalled using a downloaded version directly from Joomlapolis site with no change.
CB Subs saves the changes and settings but still displays the error.
Tried CB Tools > Check plugin Database followed by fix and get:

1118 Row size too large (> 8126). Changing some columns to TEXT or BLOB may help. In current row format, BLOB prefix of 0 bytes is stored inline.

Followed this thread:

www.joomlapolis.com/forum/277-cb-paid-subscriptions-support/243978-solved-failure-with-main-cb-subs-plugin-installation#324967

Selected utf16_general_c for collation.

Still the same result.

Current setup:
Joomla 4.0.2 )Fresh install, not a site migration)
CB 2.6.2 (Latest nightly build)
CB Subs 4.5.2+build.2021.06.25.17.09.42.53205149f
Server type: MariaDB

Ok, I'm not great with databases but gather it might be the MariaDB as perhaps it should be MySQL?
If so, can the DB be switched by my hosting company?

Thanks for your help with this,
Cheers,

Joomla requires utf8mb4_general_ci
Your Database Collation should be:
charset: utf8mb4 charset
collation: utf8mb4_general_ci

It is not same as utf16_general_ci that you selected to convert the database.

To fix, use PHPMyAdmin, click on the database, go to Operations, scroll to Collations and use

Database Collation utf8mb4_general_ci

and check both boxes for:

Change all tables collations
Change all tables columns collations

That should fix the issue.

Hello Beat,

Thank you for the response which has fixed the error completely.
CB Subs is running as expected now on Joomla 4.0.2 and of course it was a setting in the DB and not a CB problem.

Best wishes,
