We want to customize the error message "Error This email address is already registered." This error message appears when someone registers as new user but they are actually already a subscriber.
I know how to put the language into the language override file but normally I copy and paste from the en-gb language file to get the proper wording. I cannot find it in there.
Please advise. Thanks!

That's a Joomla language string. Specifically the below.
JLIB_DATABASE_ERROR_EMAIL_INUSE
You'll need to use Joomla language override instead of CBs to change it. CB language overrides also do not require direct file edits anymore as we've built in support for overrides now; see the below.
