I am getting this error and do not see where any solution is given other than turn off updates
You can shut off version checking within CB > Configuration > Integrations.
I also noticed that I am not able to place a url in your plugin manager and have it connect to download and install a plugin from the web.
No such feature exists. CB 2.0 has a built in version checker for plugins though.
