Activity and groupjive nofification

Hello there, I'd need an info about the Activity and groupjive nofifications setup I can see on the backend:
how does the notifications work if set on? Does the user get a notification info on the frontend, or any mail if someone else does dome gesture about? I'm trying to put some action, as commenting some post on the activity stream, but do not get any notification.

The notifications by default in CB GroupJive are emails or private messages depending on the configuration in CB GroupJive. When you use CB Auto Actions to intercept the notifications in CB GroupJive to send them to CB Activity they will show up on their profile via the notifications icon which expands on click (similar to Facebook basically). CB Auto Actions contains several System Actions for enabling notifications (including being notified of a comment on your post) so you shouldn't need to do anything beyond toggle them enabled.

Not sure if your version of GroupJive, CB Activity and CB Auto Actions have the features Kyle gave in his answer.

You subscription expired 2+ years ago and we have released many builds of these products since then.
