CB Login module does not work

I have upgraded from J2.5.28 to J3.4.5, from CB1.9 to CB2.0 and updating with a new Rocket Theme template (Nuance/Gantry 4)

I can no longer log in from the front end. I manage to log in by setting the site offline, and then log in as Manager from the "Maintenance page"
Logging out works fine.

If logging in from the front page, the only reaction from Joomla/CB is to redirect to a "member page" (saying "There are no published user lists!")

Swapping to a Joomla standard Template does not change the behaviour.

I fear I'm missing something basic, but I don't know what...

Please help, this is driving me nuts...
I have checked everything I can think of, cache, removed live_site from config.php, template, other modules/plugins, removed .htaccess, etc...

SEO is off, and still the unsuccessful logins redirect to a CB Member List. I have not set a redirect login in the CB Login module.

I really should have my site going live soon, so please assist if you can.

Most likely means that you do not have a Public Joomla menu item (mandatory) to the CB component.

Thank you for replying, Nant.
After a lot of hassle I noticed that I could not change or create new menu items as well, that led me to the J2.5 issue where the first row in the menu table is wiped out, which again (I guess) caused CB to not "get in touch" with the Joomla menu system. (no warnings/error messages)

So I first inserted the top item in the menu table ( solution found at forum.joomla.com ) then rebuilt the menus, and then reinstalled CB.
Now it works

Great - glas my reply helped indirectly.

Joomla 2.5 (as you know) is no longer supported.
