This is also happening when using Stripe's hosted checkout.

Even after the recent update? With live payments or only with test payments?

Apologies, I've thouroughly tested this now. I can confirm it is not doing it on the hosted checkout, but it is every time via the inline form. That being said, the payment seems to have gone through almost instantly and seems as fast or faster than any other company site.

But I understand a second can make a difference via code. That being said, this seems very standard so I'm confident Stripe has a normal solution for this. I will leave it on hosted checkout for now, so hopefully we are good until you can get in a fix. The inline form is much preferred as it seems like a smoother checkout, but given the security measures from other countries, perhaps the hosted checkout is best anyway.

Ok, have installed a patched build of CBSubs Stripe. This build implements a timeout, support for idempotency_key, and processing order for charge webhooks. Please let me know if issue persists. I'm not able to replicate so it's a timing problem a bit exclusive to your site at this point.
