We've been using CBSubs for years, but we are planning to transition to a model of metered content... allowing visitors to access a certain number of articles for free each month before hitting the paywall, and allowing search engines to search content on our sites.
It looks to me like CBSubs is not capable of handling this, but I wanted to make sure before we moved along.
Please advise if there are any possibilities to make this work?
It's certainly doable with a custom Joomla content plugin, but you are correct CBSubs does not provide this. Your Joomla content plugin would need to track article views (custom database table) and once that limit is hit utilize CBSubs API to check for valid subscription.
