CB Subs

I have;

CBSubs GPL Subscriptions plugin Active, expiring on 2016-03-06

and

CBSubs CB Subscriptions plugin, unlimited expiration.

Please advise if it is necessary to have the first subscription given the second ones seems the same. I only need it for one site.

All your websites should upgrade to CBSubs GPL.

The CBSubs product (without the GPL in its name) is proprietary and needs ioncube installed on your website and it also will only work on a single website where the GPL product can be installed on as many websites as you need.
