uddeIM 1.9 released

After two months it is finally done: uddeIM 1.9 is available!

You can download the installation packages from Joomla.org. Please give feedback if all packages are ok or if you had some problems installing uddeIM 1.9.

Please check the README since it contains important information about how to upgrade to uddeIM 1.9.

This version of uddeIM contains new features which require a database update, so check the README file! It also requires write access to Joomla's root folder in order to create a new folder (see FAQ/README for more information, usually the installer should do the job).

Don't worry about the release date (1.10.2009). This is the offical release date when I announce it on Joomla.org.

1.) Premium plugin: File attachments. This plugin allows users to send
small files to each other.
2.) Premium Plugin: Public Frontend always included the whole message in
notification email. Fixed.
3.) MooTools updated (v1.2.3)
4.) Bugfix: send system message shows all available groups again
5.) Message counters can be shown in the menu bar.
6.) SQL error when "'" was used in names fixed.
7.) Change: When a system/general message is send the sender will receive
this message, too.
8.) Bugfix: Include message with notification now works with system messages.
9.) FTP layer support improved (e.g. for accessing the configuration file and
creating missing files).
10.) There is a new backend option to send email headers (like the subject)
encoded (see rfc 2047). This should solve some problems with non ISO
character codes and Outlook message readers.
11.) A small bug in some language files fixed. Translators should check
following language strings (these have been fixed):

I'm trying to install this starting with com_uddeim.zip as per Read Me instructions - but the Extension Manager cannot complete the task. 15 minutes after clicking Upload File and Install nothing has happened.

Any suggestions, please?

Please check the FAQ. It seems that your server is not reliable and the Joomla installer dies.

This is not an uddeIM problem.

Maybe ou have to increase the max CPU time for your PHP scripts.

Hi there, I installed V1.9 on cb 1.2.1 and joomla 1.5.15 and its super. Only issue I have is the e-mail notifications just onwt work. I tried both php mail (which is what my site is and works fine) and also mosMail and no luck on either. I have all the e-mail settings correct I think and just dont get any notifications when I send between 2 test accounts. :dry:

I tested Kunena and also contact forms on my site and all give notifications of emails so not sure if there is an easy fix or am i doing something a little silly !!! :blush:

Yes read down through that chapter. I am using a known email that works and have setup the system like your FAQ. So im stumped. I will try and get hosting company to track the emails or something I guess but seems complicated. I thought there may be an easier fix.
